From its inception in 2014 as a self-storage aggregation website, the business has reinvented itself through various industries. From an expansive marketplace for professional services to focusing on property management solutions, we have consistently refined our vision. This process of constant evolution was catalysed further by the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, which despite causing significant disruptions, also presented an opportunity for strategic reflection and redirection. The shift to solar energy was a bold move, driven by South African’s demand for renewable
solutions to power their homes. Bring on the sunshine
Our CEO Ross Mains-Sheard, with a background in civil engineering with a passion for sustainability, alongside co-founder Angus Henderson, identified a significant market gap. They realised that while the demand for renewable energy solutions was high, financial barriers often hindered access. With this in mind, Versofy SOLAR started to
transform from servicing a niche market to reaching broader demographics. Offering flexible payment options and collaborating with top-tier installers, we have proudly led the way in making solar energy accessible to more South African households.
To date we have successfully installed over 50,000 solar panels that power more than 4,000 households. This initiative not only brings light to homes but also contributes to a substantial reduction in carbon footprints, generating over 35,000,000 kWh annually. This effort supports the local economy and provides a buffer against the impacts of load
shedding, enhancing the quality of life for many.
